At Plasnor we are proud to state that we are an atypical company, our production processes do not generate waste. Thanks to the integration of two manufacturing processes that allow it, the plastic scraps that we generate in one, are properly controlled and properly introduced in the other, allowing a circular use of the plastics we work with. We are also committed to reducing the level of rejection at each stage of our production process.
We achieve this commitment through the implementation of a circularity model that covers our entire production chain. To manufacture our products, we use raw materials that we obtain in two ways: by purchasing them directly or by recovering them from internal production processes. Once the raw material is available, it is analyzed, labeled and carefully stored in silos or sacks, guaranteeing its optimal conservation until the moment of its use, in the application that allows it.
Scrap and defective parts resulting from our production process are not discarded. If they cannot be reused immediately, they are properly stored for future use. This system allows us to maximize the use of materials and minimize waste. In other words, at Plasnor, plastic does not end up in the landfill, it ends up properly treated and reused in a second life.
Plasnor’s primary objective is to make the most of its waste, always seeking the greatest possible circularity in our manufacturing process. During the extrusion and thermoforming phases, all leftover material from a first production is shredded and reincorporated as raw material in new productions. This practice not only optimizes the use of materials, but also supports our goal of sustainability.
Our sheets, for example, are composed of several layers (coextrusion), which allows us to use recycled material in one or more of these layers, with some sheets being made from 100% reused and/or recycled materials. This approach not only reduces the need for new raw materials, but also significantly reduces the carbon footprint associated with our production.
The use of recycled materials adds extra value to our products, which is especially appreciated by some customers. These materials contribute to the reduction of CO2 emissions during the production process and provide products that meet stricter environmental standards, offering a more sustainable and environmentally friendly alternative.
In short, at Plasnor we strive to maintain a balance between efficient production and environmental sustainability, ensuring that every product we manufacture not only meets the highest quality standards, but also respects and protects our environment.
